Kinnaur sits along the Sutlej and Baspa valleys on the way from Shimla to Spiti, framed by the Kinner Kailash range. It's known for apple and chilgoza orchards, traditional Kinnauri wood-and-stone villages like Kalpa and Chitkul, and one of the more dramatic stretches of the Hindustan–Tibet Road.
